Itinerary
- Day 1 - Rocky Mountain National Park and Shadow Mountain Lake
We pick you up at your chosen starting point. We head out over Berthoud Pass into the remote valley of the Headwaters of the Colorado. Our first walks take us through silent meadows by Shadow Mountain Lake.
Day 2 - Rocky Mountain National Park
We enjoy a full day on the remote Western side of the park. Choose between a hike along the Colorado River to an old gold mining settlement, or into the remote valley of the Cache La Poudre River. In summer, the Ute Trail above the tree line is very rewarding. Fishing and boating (optional) is available in Grand Lake for a fee. Elk babies are visible in low valleys in May. Moose love to browse along the meadows of the Colorado River and we will look for elk, coyotes and bears in the early evening.
Day 3 - Rocky Mountains Trail Ridge Road and Estes Park
The morning takes us over the impressive Trail Ridge Road through the heart of the park. Here we will search for elk, marmots, big horn sheep and mountain goats. Choose between a morning walk or sightseeing in Estes Park. Return to Denver.
